Paramount+ has ambitious plans to invest in original content from international markets to debut around the world. That includes setting a target goal of commissioning 150 international originals by 2025.
That’s well above the service’s previously unveiled commitment to greenlighting 50 international scripted originals in 2022 with titles such as the “Sexy Beast” remake and the six-episode “The Chemistry of Death” which will star the likes of Harry Treadaway and Nick Blood.
Seven more international productions were announced this week, all being produced in partnership with Paramount’s international studio VIS. They include projects from Germany (“The Sheikh,” “A Thin Line”), Italy (“Circeo,” “Murder of God’s Banker”), France (“MASK: Marie Antoinette, Serial Killer”) and Mexico (“First Lady of Sinaloa,” “One Must Die”).
The news comes ahead of the launch of Paramount+ in the U.K. and Ireland on Wednesday, and follows on from its South Korean launch last week.
