Activision Blizzard Studios has so much faith that their upcoming film adaptation of the “Call of Duty” video game series will be a hit, they’ve begun serious work on a sequel.
Variety reports that “Black Panther” scribe Joe Robert Cole has been hired to pen the upcoming second installment which Stacey Sher, Nick van Dyk, Bobby Kotick and Coco Francini will again produce.
The plan is to have a sequel script ready to go as soon as the first film begins production next year. “Sicario: Day of the Soldado” director Stefano Sollima will helm the first film which has yet to announce any casting. No distributor is yet set either.
Cole most recently penned and directed the Netflix movie “All Day and a Night” starring Jeffrey Wright and Ashton Sanders.
