British platinum-selling singer Paloma Faith has scored the key role of the ‘big bad’ of the first season of Epix’s Batman prequel series “Pennyworth”.
The ten-episode series stars Jack Bannon as Alfred Pennyworth, a former SAS soldier in his 20s in 1960s London who forms a security company and goes to work with billionaire Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge). Alfred struggles to reconcile the kind-hearted boy he used to be with the cold, calculated killer he was forced to become.
Faith will play Bet Sykes, a spirited, sadistic and sharp-tongued adversary who will test the courage of Alfred and Thomas. The series hails from the same producers as FOX’s “Gotham” which wraps up its five season run in early 2019. Filming on “Pennyworth” gets underway next week at Warner Bros. Studios in the UK ahead of airing sometime in 2019.
