Disney Pictures

Netflix is closing out a deal in the $50 million range for the David Yates-helmed conspiracy thriller “Pain Hustlers” starring Emily Blunt.

She stars as a high-school dropout and mother who lands a job with a failing pharmaceutical start-up in a yellowing strip mall in Central Florida.

Her charm, guts and drive catapult the company and her into the high life where she soon finds herself at the center of a criminal conspiracy with deadly consequences.

Easily the biggest sale out of the Cannes market so far this year, Wells Tower penned the film and Lawrence Grey will produce and filming begins August 22nd.

That wasn’t the only deal made this weekend. Apple Original Films has landed Christos Nikou’s sci-fi love story “Fingernails” starring Jessie Buckley and Riz Ahmed.

In the film, a test has been discovered that measures whether married couples are truly in love, and institutes have opened to help couples succeed.

Buckley plays someone sceptical of the positive result she received with her longtime partner, and starts working at the institute as an assistant to a mysterious and dedicated instructor (Ahemd).

Cate Blanchett, Coco Francini and Andrew Upton produce the film which begins shooting later this year.
