“Our Flag Means Death” Finishes With S3?

Max

Max’s pirate comedy “Our Flag Means Death” returns with its second season soon following an acclaimed first season run.

The series has not yet been renewed for a third season, but if it is, it will serve as the final voyage of Stede Bonnet (Rhys Darby) and Edward Teach/Blackbeard (Taika Waititi), according to the show’s creator.

Following the release of the recent trailer for the second season, Jenkins responded to a response from comedian and writer Kristin Chirico on an Instagram reel (via Screen Rant), saying to her to help convince Max to renew the comedy by watching the show as it airs.

He also revealed that season 3 would be the last if Max opts to renew it. In the main post, he also points out “Season 2 is brought to you by the hard-working members of WGA, SAG AFTRA, IATSE, and the incredible film and TV artisans of New Zealand. They do their country proud.”

The series is very loosely based on the true adventures of 18th-century would-be pirate Stede Bonnet (Rhys Darby). After trading the seemingly charmed life of a gentleman for one of a swashbuckling buccaneer, Stede became captain of the pirate ship Revenge.

Struggling to earn the respect of his potentially mutinous crew, Stede’s fortunes changed after a fateful run-in with the infamous Captain Blackbeard (Taika Waititi). To their surprise, the wildly different Stede and Blackbeard found more than friendship on the high seas…they found love. Now, they have to survive it.

The second season’s first two episodes will debut on October 5th. Two new episodes will then premiere weekly up until the season finale on October 26th.
