The 94th Academy Awards ceremony will feature the first live performance of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” the breakout hit of Disney’s animated musical “Encanto,” during this year’s broadcast.
The announcement has drawn eyebrow raises from multiple corners as the song is not only not nominated, it wasn’t even in the running as the studio didn’t submit it – instead, they only submitted the film’s love song “Dos Oruguitas” which is nominated.
Tributes for the 60th anniversary of James Bond and 50th anniversary of “The Godfather” will also be included during the ceremony which remains under fire for its plan to pre-record and edit down eight of the ‘smaller’ awards into a package reel for the broadcast.
Amy Schumer, Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes will host this year’s ceremony which will air on March 27th.
