AMC Networks has given the green light for “Orphan Black: Echoes,” a spin-off set in the same world as the Tatiana Maslany-led sci-fi cult hit “Orphan Black” which ran from 2013-2017.
John Fawcett and Graeme Manson created the original which followed a woman who discovers that she is a clone and that someone is plotting to kill her and her clone ‘sisters’.
The new series is again set in the near future and will follow a group of women who work their way into each other’s lives unravel the mystery of their identity and uncover a wrenching story of love and betrayal.
Anna Fishko (“Fear the Walking Dead,” “Pieces of Her”) is on board to write, executive produce and showrun the series whilst Fawcett returns as executive producer and director.
The Boat Rocker Media-backed series is set to debut in 2023 on the AMC+ SVOD service and the company’s linear networks.
