Genevieve O’Reilly and Denise Gough have joined the cast of the untitled “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” prequel spinoff series focusing on Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor character and set at the Disney+ service.
The series centers on Rebel intelligence officer Andor five years before the events of the 2016 film. Stellan Skarsgard and Kyle Soller are also in the cast.
O’Reilly will reprise her role as Mon Mothma, the politician who worked to oppose Empire and helped found the Rebel Alliance.
There is no start date for production on the series which will now have Tony Gilroy as showrunner alongside brother Dan Gilroy and Beau Willimon on the writing team. Tony Gilroy will also direct the pilot and possibly a second episode.
