Hulu’s acclaimed and beloved “Only Murders in the Building” only recently kicked off its third season the other week, but indications are that the series could progress beyond that.
The new season sees comedy duo Steve Martin and Martin Short reuniting with Selena Gomez as the trio of true crime podcasters as they try and solve the murder of actor Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd), the star of Oliver’s new play.
Previously Martin teased he was potentially considering retirement from acting once ‘Only Murders’ is done. All those involved seem to enjoy it, and with its numbers nearing major streaming rivals like Amazon’s “The Boys and Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” there’s no reason to cancel it.
Now, series creator John Hoffman spoke with Screen Rant about the chances of a fourth season which seem to be quite good:
“As many [seasons] as they’ll have us for! I really mean it. This is one of those shows [where] everyone involved in it is so happy doing it – and I know I speak for the trio and everyone else.
When you have lightning in a bottle in this way, and then there’s this magnetizing force of incredible talent who say, ‘Wow, that looks like fun. I would love to be a part of that.’ I hope it gives it a good long life.”
The third season of “Only Murders in the Building” airs its third episode tonight whilst the finale, for those marathoning it, premieres on October 3rd.
