“Only Murders” S3 Sees Viewership Jump

The return of “Only Murders in the Building” on Hulu for its third season has seen a respectable jump in the the series’ viewership.

First up, Whip Media rankings for all streaming originals in the United States for the week of August 7th-13th have put the series at #1 in terms of viewership, helped along by its double-episode launch.

It beat out the likes of the second season finale of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” and the penultimate episode of the second season of “The Summer I Turned Pretty”. “Futurama,” “And Just Like That,” “Special Ops: Lioness” and “Foundation” took the next few places.

Meanwhile, analytics firm Samba TV is reporting that the third season premiere was watched by 669,000 households it measures in the United States in the show’s first six days on Hulu.

That viewership is an increase of 14% from Season 2’s debut in July 2022 which saw 627,000 households tuning in during its first week. However it’s still shy of the 948,000 households that watched the show’s first season premiere.

SambaTV estimates total viewership based on data analyzed from 28 million TVs in the U.S. and 46 million worldwide.

“Only Murders in the Building” Season 3 is now streaming on Hulu with the season expected to wrap its run on October 3rd for those wanting to binge watch.
