Netflix

With production getting underway on the third season of Netflix’s live-action “One Piece” in South Africa this week, the streamer has revealed some casting shifts for the Arabasta saga.

The core five actors of the Straw Hat crew are all announced as returning – Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji.

Also back will be Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday/Nefertari Vivi, while several second-season recurring cast members are being upgraded to series regulars in Season 3 – Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday/Nico Robin, Mikaela Hoover as Tony Tony Chopper, Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0/Crocodile and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefartari Cobra.

The only new additions for the third season so far are Cole Escola as Bon Clay and Xolo Maridueña as Portgas D. Ace. Additional cast will be announced at a later date.

Filming on the new season is expected to continue through to around April/May next year, with Netflix likely aiming for a 2027 debut.

The second season of the epic high-seas adventure series will premiere on March 10th.
