“One Piece” Casts Two Baroque Works Agents

Newcomer Awdo Awdo and actress Daisy Head (“Shadow and Bone,” “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves”) have landed new key roles in the upcoming third season of Netflix’s live-action “One Piece” series.

Awdo will play Mr. 1 (aka ‘The Killer’ Daz Bonez), a proficient hand-to-hand martial artist who can turn any part of his body into sharp steel blades.

The third season will adapt the Arabasta Arc of the manga and anime. In that,
Mr. 1 is the highest-ranked male officer of Baroque Works and works alongside Crocodile (Joe Manganiello).

Head will play Miss Doublefinger (aka ‘Poison Spider’ Zala), Mr. 1’s partner and the second-highest-ranking female officer agent in the secret organisation. Both characters will serve as major antagonists for the season.

The pair is already in Cape Town where production on the third season got underway on Monday. They join fellow third season newcomers, including Cole Escola as Bon Clay and Xolo Maridueña as Portgas D. Ace.

A few key roles remain unannounced as yet, including Baroque Works’ Mr. 4 & Miss Merry Christmas, royal guardians Pell & Chaka, and rebel leader Koza and his father.

Returning Straw Hat crew includes Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Returning from the second season are Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday/Princess Vivi, Mikaela Hoover as Tony Tony Chopper, Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0/Crocodile, Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday/Nico Robin and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefartari Cobra.

The second season premieres on the streamer on March 10th.
