“One Perfect Shot” Becomes A Docuseries

HBO Max has given the green light for a new documentary series inspired by the Twitter account One Perfect Shot. Said account celebrates iconic moments of cinematography in films and TV shows.

Each episode of the docuseries takes one acclaimed director and gives them an arsenal of visual tools to pull back the curtain on their most iconic shots.

Using state of the art technology, the directors will “literally enter each shot,” walking through a 360 degree recreation of the scene in moments that allow viewers to join an immersive exploration of moviemaking.

Filmmakers will share their obstacles, challenges, lessons and triumphs as they detail how they created their cinematic achievements. Each helmer will also present one shot from an auteur who deeply influenced them, outlining the inspiration that catalyzed their own imagination.

“Selma” and “When They See Us” helmer Ava DuVernay will executive produce and narrate the show which hails from Warner Horizon Unscripted Television and ARRAY Filmworks. No word as to what directors are involved at this point.

Lee Metzger and Neil Miller will executive produce.
