The BBC has released the first official photos of Ncuti Gatwa as the fifteenth incarnation of The Doctor in “Doctor Who”.
In addition, a shot has also been released of him alongside Millie Gibson as his companion Ruby Sunday. Both are dressed in their costumes in the series, giving us a first look at those outfits.
Gatwa himself sports an electric orange sweater, pendants, and a long coat and pants all in brown with varying tartan patterns – along with some very fine shoes.
When Gatwa and Gibson will first take-off isn’t clear. Series fan favorite David Tennant, who portrayed the tenth Doctor from 2005 to 2010, will return as the fourteenth Doctor for a special series of three episodes airing in November 2023.
Tennant will be joined by his former co-star Catherine Tate, reprising her role as companion Donna Noble whilst Yasmin Finney and Neil Patrick Harris also have roles in those specials.
Gatwa is expected to appear in at least one of those before getting his first full series where Gibson makes her debut. Russell T. Davies returns as showrunner for the specials and new series.
