Filmmaker Gavin O’Connor (“Warrior,” “The Accountant”) is in negotiations to direct the action-thriller “Fast” at Warner Bros. Pictures and Heyday Films.
Penned by “Sicario” and “Hell or High Water” scribe Taylor Sheridan, the story follows a former special forces commando who is recruited by the DEA to lead a black ops strike team targeting drug dealers who are protected by the CIA.
Sheridan was at one time looking to direct as well but after a deal couldn’t be reached, they opted instead for O’Connor. Chris Pratt was previously circling a role but his present involvement is unknown.
David Heyman and Jeff Clifford are producing and a filming date isn’t yet known. It’s expected that this will be his next film once he wraps post-production on the sports drama “Torrance” opening later this year.
