NYPD & LAPD: “Die Hard” Is An Xmas Movie

The seemingly endless debate about whether “Die Hard” is a Christmas movie got a new wrinkle today as both the New York Police Department and the Los Angeles Police Department have come together to declare it is one.

The official Twitter account of the NYPD tweeted out: “We’d like to acknowledge our partners at @LAPDHQ who have been working with us to protect Christmas since Hans Gruber’s 1988 attack on Nakatomi Plaza. #DetectiveJohnMclean #YesItsAChristmasMovie”

The LAPD responded with: “We too would like to acknowledge our partners at @NYPDnews for their continued partnership. They’ll always be more than welcome to follow in McClane’s footsteps & come to the (better) coast & have a party. Yippie Ki Yay & ho ho ho. #YesItsAChristmasMovie”.

This follows on from the film’s studio 20th Century Fox deciding the Bruce Willis-led action classic is a Christmas movie and recently released a trailer and Blu-ray release branding it as a holiday classic.
