“Us” and “Black Panther” actress Lupita Nyong’o is re-teaming with Australian filmmaker Abe Forsythe (“Down Under,” “Ned”) for a new and currently untitled sci-fi comedy described as “Men In Black meets Miss Congeniality”.
The pair previously worked on “Little Monsters,” a horror comedy that premiered to raves at Sundance in January and has since been sold to NEON and Hulu. That film follows a guy trying to woo a teacher on a kindergarten school excursion – only for a zombie invasion from a nearby military base ruining things.
For the new film, Forsythe is writing the script and directing while Nyong’o will produce with Made Up Stories’ Bruna Papandrea, Jodi Matterson and Steve Hutensky.
Nyong’o also has a remake of John Woo’s “The Killer” and the female spy thriller team-up vehicle “355” in the works along with the inevitable “Black Panther” sequel.
