“Nyad,” “Old Dads,” “Camp,” “Talk” Set Dates

A couple of key release dates have been announced today for several upcoming projects.

“Nyad,” the inspirational true story Netflix feature starring Annette Bening as legendary long-distance swimmer Diana Nyad, is set to first screen at Telluride and Toronto. It will then have a limited release on October 20th and hit the streamer on November 3rd.

The film chronicles Nyad, famed for her ability to swim for hours at a time without rest, as she attempts to swim 110 miles from Cuba to Florida. Jodie Foster, Bonnie Stoll and Rhys Ifans co-star.

Next, Netflix has acquired comedian Bill Burr’s film directorial debut, the comedy “Old Dads,” which will premiere on the streamer on October 20th. Burr, Bobby Cannavale and Bokeem Woodbine co-star.

The story follows three middle-aged fathers who sell their company to a millennial. They now find themselves out of step and behind the times as they struggle to navigate a changing world of culture, career and fatherhood.

Then, Searchlight Pictures has announced a September 14th digital and Hulu release date for the Ben Platt-led film comedy “Theater Camp” which had its theatrical release just over a month ago.

Finally, A24’s horror hit “Talk to Me” has set an October 3rd release date for its Blu-Ray and 4K release. There’s currently no indication when the movie will hit digital platforms though it’s widely expected to be next month.
