Outdated tech in the PC market is holding back gaming to some extent. More specifically it’s the 90% of gamers still on Nvidia GTX cards as opposed to the newer RTX ones or new generation of consoles.
Nvidia wants to make sure that changes with a presentation at CES today announcing over 70 laptop models coming from late this month priced from $999-1999 with RTX capability, and the release late next month of the fairly powerful RTX 3060 card for just $329.
The company showcased the power of these new laptops with one containing the RTX 3080 playing “Microsoft Flight Simulator” across three displays. The presentation made it clear that Nvidia is trying to get ray tracing and DLSS capability into as many games as possible – and from the looks of it, it’s working.
In addition they also announced that “Call of Duty”: Warzone,” “Iron Conflict,” “Edge of Eternity” and “Outriders” will get DLSS while the new “Five Night’s At Freddys: Security Breach,” “The Medium” and “F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch” will get ray tracing and DLSS. Also “Rainbow Six Siege” and “Overwatch” will get Nvidia Reflex.
