Nintendo’s Direct presentation this morning indicated that, much like PlayStation, many of their key upcoming exclusive titles will not be seen until 2022.
The biggest reveal was Nintendo is offering a new online subscription tier that will include Nintendo 64 games and Sega Genesis/Mega Drive games. Special controllers for each system will also be released.
At launch the N64 Games: Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Star Fox 64, Yoshi’s Story, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Mario Tennis, Dr Mario 64, Sin & Punishment, and WinBack. Post-launch titles will include: Banjo-Kazooie, Pokemon Snap, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Mario Golf, Paper Mario, and F-Zero X.
At launch the Genesis/Mega Drive Games: Castlevania Bloodlines, Contra Hard Corps, Dr Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine, Ecco the Dolphin, Golden Axe, Gunstar Heroes, Musha
Phantasy Star IV, Ristar, Shining Force, Shinobi III, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Streets of Rage 2, and Strider.
The company also announced “Kirby and the Forgotten Land” hitting next Spring, showed off more from “Metroid Dread,” gameplay from “Bayonetta 3” and “Triangle Strategy,” and offered a look at the ‘Sunbreak’ major expansion for “Monster Hunter Rise”.
Square Enix announced “Chocobo GP” which is essentially “Mario Kart” but with “Final Fantasy” characters. Also confirmed is the “Castlevania Advance Collection” which is out today.
“Nier” masterminds Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito are doing a card-based role-playing game titled “Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars” which will hit the Switch on October 28th.
No updates on “Breath of the Wild 2” or the “Animal Crossing New Horizons” DLC which will be announced next month. Check out the various game trailers below:
