Nintendo held its summer Nintendo Direct presentation yesterday, showcasing various Nintendo Switch games, with many coming in the back half of this year.

The big surprise is a ground-up remake of the classic SNES game “Super Mario RPG,” which will hit November 17th. Also coming in October is a bizarre new Mario 2D game titled “Super Mario Bros. Wonder”, where you can play as Elephant Mario.

Several other Mario franchise titles were announced, including a Princess Peach game coming in 2024, a “visually enhanced” port of “Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon” hitting Switch later in 2023, the movement-centric game collection “WarioWare: Move It,” and more DLC for “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” and “Mario + Rabbids: Sparks Of Hope”

Also on the way is the return of “Detective Pikachu” with a new sequel game coming in October, a new “Dragon Quest” entry titled “Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince” hitting December 1st, the chaotic co-op title “Manic Mechanics” on July 13th, a remake of “Star Ocean: The Second Story” coming on November 2nd, and DLC for “Pokemon Scarlet and Violet” hitting in the Fall.

In terms of third party titles, the Switch is confirmed to be getting titles set to pop up this Fall on other platforms, including “Sonic Superstars,” “Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1,” “MythForce,” “Palia,” “Silent Hope,” “Penny’s Big Breakaway,” “Persona 5 Tactica,” along with Switch ports of the “Batman Arkham Trilogy,” “Gloomhaven” and “Vampire Survivors”.
