Nintendo has announced the Nintendo Switch Lite, a handheld-only version of the switch which will be coming to stores on September 20th and retails for $200 USD – a full $100 less than the original Switch which will stick around as well.
Available initially in gray, yellow and turquoise models, the machine is a bit more compact with a 5.5-inch screen (same 720p resolution) and a matte plastic feel. The side controllers don’t detach and it doesn’t have TV connectivity via USB-C, HD rumble or IR motion camera, but it has the same processing power.
For games that do not support handheld mode, players can wirelessly connect compatible controllers. The handhelds will arrive in time for the arrival of the new “Zelda: Link’s Awakening” game.
