“The Night Agent” has now made it into the list of Netflix‘s most popular series of all time. With a further 130.48 million hours viewed in its third week, it has now pulled in 515.57 million hours viewed since its release on March 23rd.
That puts it at No. 9 on the streamer’s most popular list to date, pushing past “Inventing Anna”. The series still has another week before it stops its tally count at Netflix’s standard 28 day mark – by which time it’s tipped to potentially land in Netflix’s all-time Top 5 series.
“The Shield” creator Shawn Ryan created the show based on the novel by Matthew Quirk. It debuted on March 23rd and pulled in 168.7 million hours viewed in its first few days on the streamer and has already been renewed for a second season.
The Gabriel Basso-led spy thriller series has been Netflix’s biggest success story since “Wednesday” last year and, even in its third week, is easily on top of viewing numbers for the week – holding off all competition.
To offer a comparison, the critically acclaimed Ali Wong and Steven Yeun-led dark comedy “Beef” premiered this past week to around 34.1 million hours viewed and third place.
The Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston starrer “Murder Mystery 2” held on to its first-place spot for films with 59.84 million hours viewed.
