Nicki Minaj To Lead “Lady Danger” Series

Warner Bros. Pictures

Singer Nicki Minaj is set to executive produce and star in the new Amazon Freevee animated series “Lady Danger”.

Based on the Dark Horse comic book series of the same name by Alex de Campi, the series is set in the year 2075 and follows a government field agent left for dead by her team after she discovers a dangerous secret.

She is resurrected as Lady Danger – an afro-futuristic cutthroat Agent of B.O.O.T.I (Bureau of Organized Terrorism Intervention) who must conceal her true identity whilst taking on baddies who are intent on destroying the Earth.

The comic was originally published in 2015 as a two-part story in the Dark Horse anthology series “Grindhouse: Drive In, Bleed Out” before being later collected in a trade paperback.

Carlton Jordan (“Love Handles”) and Crystle Roberson (“Ambitions”) are penning the series whilst Minaj, Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson, Brian Sher, Paul Young & Mike Griffin executive produce through Jackson’s G-Unit Film & TV company and Make Good Content.

Starburns Industries serves as the primary animation studio. Further casting and production details are under wraps, but the news comes as 50 Cent is also teaming with Paramount+ and Lionsgate Television on the new original series “Vice City”.
