Hot off his acclaimed turn in “Pig,” Nicolas Cage has joined the upcoming action western “The Old Way”.
Cage will star as Colton Briggs, a former gunslinger who now runs a general store and lives quietly with his family. When a gang of outlaws murders his wife in cold blood, Briggs returns home to find his world burning.
He unearths his sidearm and saddles up with an unlikely partner: his twelve-year-old daughter. Brett Donowho (“Acts of Violence”) helms from a script by Carl W. Lucas.
Cage will shoot this followed by another western, the previously announced “Butcher’s Crossing,” back-to-back in Montana. These will mark Cage first real foray into the classic western genre.
Donowho, R. Bryan Wright, Micah Haley, Sasha Yelaun, Robert Paschall Jr. and Johnny Remo are producing.
