Next “Jurassic World” Gets A Rumored Title?

Universal Pictures

Last year, Universal Pictures released “Jurassic World Rebirth” to some solid success.

Gareth Edwards directed the project, coming on board relatively late in the process, which meant he had little input in pre-production as David Koepp’s script was set and both production and release dates were in place.

Despite those limitations, the title became the sixth-highest-grossing film of 2025, grossing over $869 million worldwide against a budget of around $200 million and was nominated for a VFX Oscar.

In addition, came a much-talked-about press tour featuring its stars Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali. In November a report emerged claiming that a sequel was moving forward with that trio of actors and Edwards returning, and a June 2028 release was being targeted.

Now, a possible title may have been found. Jurassic fansite Swrve reports that several days ago, multiple domain names had been acquired that pointed to the use of the title “Jurassic World: Liberation”.

Those domain names, like jurassicworldliberation.movie and jurassicworldliberation.com, all redirect towards the official site for the franchise at jurassicworld.com. As pointed out, though, this could technically be a placeholder name until a final title is set.

Universal has yet to officially confirm that another film is in the works. Certainly, no production dates have been revealed, and Johansson is currently busy filming “The Exorcist: Martyrs” and later “The Batman: Part II”.
