Next James Bond Audition Rounds In August

MGM, EON, Sony Pictures

Filmmaker Denis Villeneuve and the producers of the James Bond franchise are reportedly getting closer to selecting who will be cast in the role for the new iteration of the series at Amazon MGM Studios.

Deadline says that talent has begun to be informed as to whether they have made the next round of auditions. Villeneuve has reportedly been calling talent directly and indicated that the next round will take place in August.

How many actors will make the next round isn’t clear, but it’s believed to be at least half a dozen. Others say it’s as high as somewhere in the teens.

Meetings have been going on with talent since Spring 2025 while casting director Nina Gold has been meeting with lesser-known actors for the past several weeks to see who should join some of the more prominent actors expected to get a call.

No names have been confirmed at this time, though the likes of Jacob Elordi and Callum Turner have swirled in recent months. Either way, they seem intent on locking down an actor before year’s end so production on the next film can begin next year.

The next James Bond film doesn’t have a release date yet.
