New TV Spot: “Supergirl”

While it doesn’t hvae a spot airing during the Super Bowl, Warner Bros. Pictures has premiered a new TV spot for it s “Supergirl” movie which ties into the Puppy Bowl event.

Australian actress Milly Alcock (“House of the Dragon”) takes on the role of Kara Zor-El/Supergirl in the film which is based on the “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” limited series comic by Tom King.

In the film, Supergirl (Alcock) travels across the galaxy to celebrate her 21st birthday with Krypto the Superdog. Along the way, she meets a young woman named Ruthye and winds up on a murderous quest for revenge.

Also starring are Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Jason Momoa as Lobo, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze and Alice Hewkin as a Sklarian Raider.

The trailer showcases a baby Krypto at one point. Online rumors have indicated the film tested this past week with Lobo said to have a substantial role and a darker and more serious tone than “Superman”.

Ana Nogueira penned the script while Craig Gillespie directs the project and Junkie XL is providing the score. The film is slated to release on June 26th.
