Universal Pictures has released the final trailer for Stephen Chbosky’s film adaptation of the Broadway musical “Dear Evan Hansen”.
Ben Platt reprises his Tony-winning titular role in the film which screened at the Toronto International Film Festival the other week and will open in cinemas on September 24th.
The story centers around an isolated high schooler aching for understanding and belonging amid the chaos and cruelty of the social-media age. Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, Kaitlyn Dever, Amandla Stenberg, Colton Ryan, and Danny Pino co-star.
Next, the trailer is out for the new near-future romance drama “Needle in a Timestack” from Oscar-winning screenwriter John Ridley (“12 Years a Slave”) who directs.
Leslie Odom, Jr. and Cynthia Erivo play a couple who live in marital bliss until her ex-husband (Orlando Bloom) warps time to try to tear them apart using the man’s college girlfriend (Frieda Pinto). As memories and reality disappear, sacrifices must be made to hold onto love.
“Needle in a Timestack” will hit cinemas, On Demand, and Digital on October 15th with disc releases a few days later.
Finally, Blumhouse has released the first trailer for its coming-of-age drama “This is the Night” which hails from “The Purge” franchise writer/director James DeMonaco.
The story follows an Italian American family in 1982 as their Staten Island neighborhood clamors for the release of “Rocky III”. Naomi Watts, Frank Grillo, Lucius Hoyos, Jonah Hauer-King, River Alexander, Chase Vacnin, and Bobby Cannavale star.
“This is the Night” will have a limited theatrical release in New York on September 17th ahead of a Digital HD on September 21st.
