Various trailer releases today starting with James Morosini’s new film “I Love My Dad” which is inspired by his own life experience.
The story follows an estranged father Chuck (Patton Oswalt) who desperately wants to reconnect with his son Franklin (Morosini). Chuck has been blocked from his son’s social media profiles and is concerned, so he creates a fake profile impersonating a waitress to check in with Franklin.
However, things start to spiral out of control when Franklin begins to have feelings for this girl and wants to meet her in person, as Chuck has accidentally catfished his child.
Lil Rel Howery, Claudia Sulewski, Amy Landecker, Ricky Velez, and Rachel Dratch co-star in the film which is in cinemas on August 5th and will be available on-demand from August 12th.
Saban Films has released a new trailer for the horror thriller “Maneater” which will hit cinemas and on-demand on August 26th. The story follows a woman (Nicky Whelan), recently dumped by her fiancee, who uses her planned honeymoon to go with a group of friends and ends up having to face off against a man-eating shark.
IFC Films has released a trailer for the thriller “Rogue Agent” starring Gemma Arterton and James Norton. Based on the true story of Robert Freegard, Norton plays a conman who makes people believe he’s a spy for MI5 and tricks people to go into hiding. His latest mark (Arterton) however knows something is up and seeks the real MI5’s help to track him down. “Rogue Agent” opens in cinemas and on AMC+ on August 12th.
Next comes Agnieszka Smoczynskas’ true story biographical drama “The Silent Twins” which explores the story of June and Jennifer Gibbons (Letitia Wright and Tamara Lawrance) – twin sisters who only communicated with one another – creating a rich, fascinating world to escape the reality of their own lives. The film hits cinemas on September 16th.
Netflix has released the trailer for Tamra Davis’ film adaptation of the Broadway musical “13” which arrives on August 12th. In the film, a 12-year-old NYC kid plans the ultimate Bar Mitzvah. However, those plans go awry when his parents reveal they are getting divorced, and he has to move halfway across the country. Debra Messing, Rhea Perlman, Josh Peck, Peter Hermann and Eli Golden co-star.
