Meet Cute
Peacock has released the trailer for its new rom-com feature “Meet Cute” starring Pete Davidson and Kaley Cuoco. The Alex Lehmann-helmed film premieres exclusively on the service on September 21st.
Cuoco plays a woman who uses a time machine to repeat the first meeting between her and Gary (Davidson) in order to engineer a love at first sight date.
But when Gary can’t measure up to her vision of perfection in the days following their magical night, she heads further back in time to shape him into her dream man.
Old Man
RJLE Films has released a trailer for Lucky McKee’s thriller “Old Man” which is set for a theatrical and on-demand release on October 14th. Marc Senter plays a hiker who gets lost in the woods and, while searching for help, ends up in a cabin inhabited by an elderly man (Stephen Lang) who trusts no one.
Blueback
Next comes the trailer for “The Dry” and “Paper Planes” director Robert Connolly’s new film “Blueback”. Mia Wasikowska, Radha Mitchell and Eric Bana co-star in the film, which will debut in Toronto.
The story follows a young girl who dives into the ocean and meets a wild blue groper. After being told how majestic these fish are, she vows to keep him safe over the years – including protecting them from commercial fishermen.
What’s Love Got To Do With It
Finally comes the trailer for the U.K. cross-cultural rom-com “What’s Love Got To Do With It?” helmed by Shekhar Kapur (“Elizabeth”) and written by Jemima Khan. The film will hit UK cinemas in January.
Lily James plays a documentary-maker and dating app addict who helps document her childhood friend and neighbour Kaz (Shazad Latif), who gets into an arranged marriage to a bright and beautiful bride from Pakistan.
