New Trailer: The “Doctor Who” 60th Specials

BBC

The BBC has released the new full official trailer for the three 60th anniversary specials of “Doctor Who” due out in November.

Boasting the titles “The Star Beast,” “Wild Blue Yonder” and “The Giggle,” the episodes which will feature David Tennant as the fourteenth incarnation of The Doctor (he previously played the tenth) whilst Catherine Tate returns as Donna Noble.

The trailer boasts some rather impressive large scale at times for the series as The Doctor gets into a showdown with Neil Patrick Harris’ villain – believed to be a new version of The Celestial Toymaker.

The trailer doesn’t cover the question as to why Tennant’s “face” has come back, but does go heavily into the return of Donna and how her previous adventures with The Doctor that she was forced to forget are now going to come back into play.

The Fifteenth Doctor, played by Ncuti Gatwa, will take control of the TARDIS alongside Millie Gibson as his new companion Ruby Sunday next year with Gatwa glimpsed ever so briefly in the final shot of the trailer.

The three “Doctor Who” 60th-anniversary specials air this November on the BBC in the UK and on Disney+ around the rest of the world.
