Netflix and Skydance have premiered the first trailer for their international action spy thriller “Heart of Stone” starring Gal Gadot, Jamie Dornan, Matthias Schweighöfer, Sophie Okonedo, Alia Bhatt, Jing Lusi and Paul Ready.
The clip was unveiled as part of the streamer’s global live event Tudum in São Paulo, Brazil, on Saturday where Gadot, Dornan and Bhatt were on hand for the unveiling.
The film centers on Rachel Stone (Gadot), a highly accomplished spy who is also secretly a member of the covert organization Charter which uses advanced technology to thwart potential threats to global safety.
Sophie Okonedo appears to be playing her handler in the film, telling her she’s not allowed any friends and no relationships. There’s a motorcycle chase, a parachute stunt and more.
Schweighöfer plays the villain who is after the ‘heart’, which appears to be some sort of advanced compact database that powers the Charter organisation.
Greg Rucka (“The Old Guard”) and Allison Schroeder (“Hidden Figures”) penned the script, while “The Aeronauts” helmer Tom Harper directs. Harper, Rucka and Patty Whitcher are executive producers.
Dubbed a “super grounded, raw, action thriller,” “Heart of Stone” launches on the Netflix service on August 11th.
