New Trailer: Eli Roth’s “Thanksgiving”

Sony Pictures

Tristar Pictures and Spyglass Media have released a new trailer for the Eli Roth-directed horror slasher feature “Thanksgiving” which opens in cinemas in November.

The project is based on the faux trailer that Roth made sixteen years ago for “Grindhouse” which follows a killer in a pilgrim costume.

Said killer visits a small town in Massachusetts with the hopes of creating a carving board out of the town’s Turkey-loving inhabitants. The original faux trailer was notable for its gory kills.

In the feature version, a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts – the birthplace of the holiday.

Picking off residents one by one, what begins as random revenge killings are soon revealed to be part of a larger, sinister holiday plan. Will the town uncover the killer and survive the holidays…or become guests at his twisted holiday dinner table?

Patrick Dempsey, Nell Verlaque, Addison Rae, Jalen Thomas Brooks and Milo Manheim co-star. Roth is directing and producing the project, while Jeff Rendel is writing the screenplay. Roger Birnbaum also produces.

The “Hostel” and “Cabin Fever” director also has the film adaptation of the video game “Borderlands” on the way.
