New Trailer: “Death on the Nile”

New Trailer Death On The Nile
20th Century Studios

Arriving fourteen months after the first trailer hit, a new preview is out for 20th Century Studios’ mystery-thriller film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s “Death on the Nile”.

The project marks the second time Academy Award nominee Kenneth Branagh both directs and stars as Christie’s iconic sleuth Hercule Poirot following 2017’s “Murder on the Orient Express”.

Poirot’s Egyptian adventure aboard a glamorous river steamer descends into a terrifying search for a murderer when an idyllic honeymoon is shattered by violent deaths.

A sinister tale of obsessive love and its murderous consequences plays out in an epic landscape of danger and foreboding. This marks the second big-screen adaptation following the famed 1978 film starring Peter Ustinov, David Niven, Mia Farrow, Angela Lansbury, Maggie Smith and George Kennedy.

The new trailer quite effectively hides the extent of Armie Hammer’s involvement in the film, at one point using a wide shot where he’s deliberately behind co-star Gal Gadot.

In the final film it won’t be so easy to marginalise him as, aside from Poirot, he’s arguably the secondary male lead and thus will likely have plenty of screen time.

Annette Bening, Letitia Wright, Russell Brand, Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, Rose Leslie, Tom Bateman, Sophie Okonedo, Emma Mackey and Ali Fazal co-star in the film which 20th Century Studios still intends a theatrical release for from February 11th next year.
