AMC has released a trailer for their noir thriller series “Dark Winds” which is based on Tony Hillerman’s Leaphorn & Chee mystery novels.
Set in 1971 on a remote outpost of the Navajo Nation near Monument Valley, the story follows Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon) of the Tribal Police as he is besieged by a series of seemingly unrelated crimes.
He is joined by his new deputy Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon) who has old scores to settle from his youth on the reservation. Jessica Matten, Noah Emmerich, Deanna Allison and Rainn Wilson co-star.
Vince Calandra (“Castle Rock”) serves as showrunner with Chris Eyre directing and both executive producing alongside creator Graham Roland, Tina Elmo, Vince Gerardis, George R.R. Martin and Robert Redford.
The first two episodes premiere June 12th followed by weekly episodes on Sundays. AMC+ subscribers will get advance access to an additional episode each week starting June 19th.
