Toho has announced a November 3rd 2023 theatrical release date for a new “Godzilla” film project from the company which originated the franchise.
Toho dropped the news as part of celebrations for Godzilla Day. Takashi Yamazaki will helm the project, but plot specifics are under wraps.
The project is separate from the U.S.-based takes on the property, such as the upcoming “Godzilla vs. Kong 2” and the planned Apple TV+ series.
Though numerous animated projects have since happened, the last live-action Toho “Godzilla” was 2016’s “Shin Godzilla” which scored both good reviews and strong box-office.
