New “Tintin” Video Game In The Works

Microids and Moulinsart are developing a video game based on the iconic French comic book series “The Adventures of Tintin”.

The title being created for both consoles and PC and will be an action-adventure game transporting players into a whirlwind of suspenseful situations with intrepid reporter Tintin, his loveable dog Snowy, and other iconic characters like Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus and detectives Thomson & Thompson.

Microids CEO Stéphane Longeard said in a statement: “We are extremely happy to work on this co-production. We have been willing to make this happen for quite some time. This announcement is the result of a creative process allowing us to define precisely how this project will take shape and the two companies will interact. This really is a dream come true for us.”

The aim is to reportedly provide a “mainstream audience with a fun and friendly game for everyone to enjoy.” Microids previously published the “Syberia” and “Blacksad” games, while Moulinsart is the company which has been set up to protect and promote the work of “Tintin” author Herge.

“Tintin” was adapted into three side scrolling games in the 1990s, along with a quickly cobbled together point and click game based on Steven Spielberg’s 2011 film.
