New “The Naked Gun” Is Just 84 Minutes

Paramount Pictures

However you feel about the new “The Naked Gun” reboot, the comedy film has one thing in its favour – brevity.

The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has confirmed that the Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson-led film clocks in at just 84 minutes – including end credits.

That makes it notably shorter than almost any other film hitting this summer, but is still very much in line with the rest of the films in this franchise.

The original two films clocked in at 85 minutes each, while the third was just 82.

Neeson and Paul Walter Hauser play the sons of Leslie Nielsen and George Kennedy’s characters who just happen to have the same names. Anderson stars as femme fatale Beth who seeks justice for her brother’s murder.

Kevin Durand, Danny Huston, CCH Pounder, Cody Rhodes, Liza Koshy, and Eddie Yu co-star.

“Chip n Dale: Rescue Rangers” writers Dan Gregor and Doug Mand are reuniting with that film’s director Akiva Schaffer on the project which opens August 1st.
