New “Super Mario” Poster, Trailer Tomorrow

Universal Pictures and Illumination have released a new poster for “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” the one-sheet comes ahead of the film’s second trailer that will be arriving online at 2pm US-PT tomorrow as part of a new Nintendo Direct.

The voice cast for this adaptation of Nintendo’s “Super Mario Bros.” game franchise includes Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.

Plot specifics are under wraps, but the film marks the first adaptation of the franchise, and a Nintendo property, since 1993’s infamous live-action take on Mario.

Mario’s traditional voice actor, Charles Martinet, will also be involved in the film, which Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic direct from a screenplay by Matthew Fogel.

“The Super Mario Bros.” is slated to open in cinemas on April 7th 2023.
