CBS All Access held a panel for its various “Star Trek” shows on Saturday at New York Comic Con, offering a first look teaser trailer for the third season of “Star Trek: Discovery,” a new trailer and release date for “Star Trek: Picard,” and the immediate release of the new “Short Treks” episode “Q&A” on the service.
“Star Trek: Picard” will premiere January 23rd on CBS All Access and January 24th on Amazon Prime Video around much of the rest of the world. The new trailer offers another look at Data, a first look at Riker and Troi, and more details of Picard’s mission with him acting outside of Starfleet’s authorization to help a mystery woman.
The new season of ‘Discovery’ will premiere in 2020 and finds the U.S.S. Discovery crew dropping out of the wormhole and into an unknown future far from the home they once knew. Now living in a time filled with uncertainty, the U.S.S. Discovery crew, along with the help of some new friends, must together fight to regain a hopeful future.
The “Q&A” short trek is penned by Michael Chabon and directed by Mark Pellington and follows Ensign Spock’s (Ethan Peck) first day aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise, which doesn’t go as planned when he and Number One (Rebecca Romijn) are unexpectedly stuck together in a turbo lift. Five more “Short Treks” are set to roll out on the second Thursday of each month.
