A brief synopsis for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has emerged courtesy of publisher Penguin Random House’s website.
As we know, Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the film which is being helmed by Destin Daniel Cretton (“Wonder Man,” “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”) and will see multiple villains.
Also set are Zendaya as Michelle ‘MJ’ Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, Marvin Jones III as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas and Tramell Tillman.
Now, the new synopsis comes via a description of the upcoming coffee table book “Spider-Man: Brand New Day – The Art Of The Movie” and reads as follows:
“Four years have gone by since we last caught up with our friendly neighborhood hero. Peter Parker is no more, but Spider-Man is at the top of his game keeping New York City safe.
Things are going well for our anonymous hero until an unusual trail of crimes pulls him into a web of mystery larger than he’s ever faced before. In order to take on what’s ahead, Spider-Man not only needs to be at the top of his physical and mental game, but he must also be prepared to face the repercussions of his past!”
The synopsis follows in the wake of what has been a busy few days for the film with concept art leaks seemingly confirming Boomerang, Tarantula, and Savage Hulk appear, though there’s been a lot of contention and argument over which of these leaks are real or AI.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” opens in cinemas on July 31st.
