Disney has premiered several new posters and an IMAX version of the full trailer for “TRON: Ares” ahead of the film’s release next month.
In addition, IMAX have confirmed back-to-back screenings of “TRON: Legacy” and “TRON: Ares” will take place on their giant screens for one night only on October 8th.
Also announced is that “TRON: Legacy” will be getting a 4K Steelbook UHD disc release next month which, for the first time on home video, will feature aspect ratio shifts for the IMAX footage. The original “TRON” is also getting a 4K Steelbook.
“TRON: Ares” follows a highly sophisticated program names Ares (Jared Leto) who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.
Joining Leto in this group are Gillian Anderson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Cameron Monaghan, and Jeff Bridges.
Nine Inch Nails is composing the score for the film which was shot in Vancouver last year by filmmaker Joachim Rønning (“Kon-Tiki,” “Young Woman and the Sea”). The film has been co-written by Jesse Wigutow (“Daredevil: Born Again”) and Jack Thorne (“Adolescence”)
“TRON: Ares” is set to hit cinemas on October 10th.
