New Poster: “The Mandalorian & Grogu”

Lucasfilm

Lucasfilm and Disney have premiered a new poster for the Jon Favreau-directed “Star Wars” film “The Mandalorian & Grogu”.

The strikes in 2023 led to Lucasfilm prioritising a film over a fourth season of the series, with this film being announced last January and shot in the back half of last year.

A new version of the Razor Crest ship will appear in the film, the first big-screen outing for “Star Wars” since 2019.

Pedro Pascal reprises his role as Din Djarin and is joined by Sigourney Weaver as Ward, veteran pilot for the Rebel Alliance and now colonel who leads the New Republic’s Adelphi Rangers.

Also starring are Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt, the son of the crime lord Jabba the Hutt, and Jonny Coyne as a warlord controlling some of the remnants of the Empire.

White recently spoke with Variety about the role, saying:

“I’d never done voice work. There isn’t any stop-motion work or anything physical like that. I was excited about doing a job that is in this world of Star Wars, a world that I have admired for a very long time. I was also excited about doing the movie that my daughters can go and see… I did a bit of a voice, but then I think Jon also ended up tweaking it a little bit. It was maybe a year ago. I did a couple sessions. I’ve not seen any of it.”

Garazeb ‘Zeb’ Orrelios from the animated series “Star Wars Rebels” also appears in the film, as do members of Babu Frik’s race.

“The Mandalorian & Grogu,” which is at least partly shot for IMAX, hits cinemas on May 22nd 2026.
