One of the many announcements at the Game Awards was for “LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight,” a new Batman LEGO title that pays tribute to many different eras of Batman.
The trailer for the game showed homages to Burton & Shumacher’s Batman films, the “Batman: Arkham” games, the old 60s TV series, the 90s animated series, the Nolan films and more.
What wasn’t revealed, and what has subsequently come out, is that the game is big. In fact, LEGO Game News are reporting that the game’s main campaign story clocks in at 15 hours broken up into six chapters, while side quests add another 15 hours of gameplay – and that total 30-hour count reportedly does not include collectibles.
That’s the longest LEGO game to date. In fact, it clocks in ahead of more regular games like “Batman: Arkham Asylum”, which comes in at 11 hours for its campaign and 25.5 hours to 100% according to How Long to Beat.
The new title’s campaign length is longer than all the Arkham games bar “Arkham Knight” at 17 hours. There are four islands in the game, with the one revealed so far comparable in size to one of the major islands in ‘Arkham Knight’.
“LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight” hits May 29th 2026, and DLC for the game will release in September.
