Toho has released a rather stunning one-sheet for “Godzilla Minus One,” their newest period live-action “Godzilla” movie.
The story unfolds in an already devastated post-WW2 Japan where the kaiju goes on a rampage – pushing an already collapsed country past its breaking point.
Takashi Yamazaki, who handled the visual effects on 2016’s “Shin Godzilla,” returns to write and direct this outing which marks the second of the live-action Reiwa era.
Three animated films for Netflix were also released as a part of that era. “Godzilla Minus One” is set to premiere in Japan on November 3rd and will get a U.S. theatrical release on December 1st which includes an IMAX release.
It will also have its world premiere on November 1st as part of the 36th Tokyo International Film Festival. Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Yuki Yamada, Munetaka Aoki, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura Ando and Kuranosuke Sasaki star.
The new film also comes after Apple TV+ and Legendary’s “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” series which arrives in November,” and before “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” which is scheduled to arrive in cinemas in May next year.
