Sony Pictures have shaken up their release schedule, the big change being the delay of Jason Reitman’s “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” by a further three months to June 11th 2021. That puts it just a few weeks out from a full year after its originally intended July 2020 release.
Sony has also set a new date for the “Don’t Breathe” sequel which will now open August 13th 2021. Rodo Sayagues helms the follow-up to the 2016 home invasion horror hit from Fede Álvarez, a film that has already been shot.
Also today, Universal Pictures has officially set Nia DaCosta’s upcoming “Candyman” revival for an August 27th 2021 opening, over a year after its originally intended release. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II leads the cast of this follow-up to the iconic original.
