Timed for “Star Trek” Day, Paramount+ has released the first official photo and the first featurette from the set of the currently filming fifth season of “Star Trek: Discovery” in Toronto.
Wilson Cruz, Sonequa Martin-Green, Blu del Bario and Mary Wiseman can be seen in the clip where it’s revealed they’re in the midst of shooting the fourth episode when the clip was made.
In the new season, Burnham and the crew uncover a mystery that sends them on an epic adventure to find an ancient power whose very existence has been deliberately hidden for centuries. But there are others on the hunt as well… dangerous foes desperate to claim the prize for themselves and will stop at nothing to get it.
The new season has not set an official air date as yet.
Meanwhile, a new clip from the currently airing third season of “Star Trek: Lower Decks” is out, looking ahead to the eighth episode titled “Crisis Point 2: Paradoxus,” which airs on October 13th.
That episode will be a holodeck episode, serving as a sequel to the holodeck ‘movie’ created by Mariner and Boimler in the first season episode “Crisis Point”.
In the video, the Cerritos is under attack from Romulan forces seeking a special crystal. Just when it seems like all is lost, the U.S.S. Wayfarer triumphantly appears, led by Ensign Brad Boimler (Jack Quaid) playing Captain Bucephalus Dagger.
