New details have emerged on the behind-the-scenes drama on James Wan’s “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” as part of an explosive new report in Variety.
The report uses information from both their own sources and uncovered court documents used in the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial.
The report indicates Heard’s role was drastically reduced for the sequel due to a perceived lack of chemistry between Heard and star Jason Momoa.
Heard wasn’t happy with this, neither was her then-boyfriend Elon Musk with the report alleging he sent an angry letter to Warner Bros. Pictures threatening them if they tried to remove her from the film.
As a result, she was kept on but it’s claimed two of her major scenes were cut. There are reported allegations from Heard that Momoa showed up on set drunk and “dressing as Johnny [Depp]” attempting to harass her – claims the trade’s sources and DC have strongly denied.
The report adds that test screenings for the film have been bad enough to lead to multiple instances of reshoots up through and into this year. The studio denies these claims, saying only one week of reshoots took place.
“Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” arrives in theaters on December 20th.
