Netflix has released the trailer for their crime drama series “Young Wallander” which is coming to the service on September 3rd.
The series serves as a prequel/origin story to the latter adventures of the character from Henning Mankell’s mystery novels who has been played on screen several times across several shows – including the Kenneth Branagh-led BBC series.
This reimagining follows Kurt Wallander in his early 20s and will center around his formative experiences – professional and personal as he takes on his first-ever case.
After recently graduating from the police academy, he suddenly witnesses a brutal crime and is pulled into solving it under the wing of superintendent Hemberg.
Adam Palsson takes on the role in the six-parter which also stars Richard Dillane, Leanne Best, and Ellise Chappell. Ole Endresen and Jens Jonsson helm from a script written by Ben Harris.
